your data, your rights
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
MJ & SEVEN (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it — including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address (required), and your first and last name if you choose to share them (optional).
- Contact & comment submissions: the name, email, and message you submit through our forms.
- Consent records: the exact consent statement you agreed to, the date and time of your consent, and the source page where you signed up.
Why we collect it & the legal basis
We use your email address to send you marketing emails (our newsletter) about new stories, Spain Digital Nomad Visa updates, and life in Spain. The legal basis for this processing is your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We only subscribe you after you tick the consent box — we never subscribe anyone without it.
Where your data goes
Subscribers who consent are added to our email-marketing audience (Hostinger Reach) so we can deliver the newsletter. Your data is stored securely and is never sold or rented to third parties.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscription data for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you marketing emails and may retain a minimal record of your unsubscription to honour your request.
Your GDPR rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction or deletion of your data;
- Withdraw your consent at any time — unsubscribing is always one click away;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Unsubscribe
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at sayhello@myjseven.com and we will remove you from the list promptly.
